 The Kentucky Blood Center has teamed up with S&S Tire so other non-profits can recruit blood donors and compete to earn cash. S&S Tire is giving away $10,000 to motivate charitable organizations to recruit blood donors in June!

COMPETITION RULES

June 1 – June 30, 2008

·    A month-long donor recruitment competition open to charitable organizations in all the counties where Kentucky Blood Center collects blood [charitable organizations are defined by IRS designation 501(c)(3)]

S&S Tire will award $10,000 in cash to charities for blood donor recruitment! The top three charities that recruit the most donors who successfully make appointments and give blood on their behalf, will win:

·     The Champion Charity will win the traveling trophy and $6,500.

·          The First Runner Up will win a trophy and $2,500.

·          The Second Runner Up will win a trophy and $1,000.

·          The winners will be announced in July.

The Challenge is limited to charities who registered online by May 19.

Points will be awarded in this manner:

·         Appointment to donate = 1 point

made online or by phone at least the day prior to donation;

·         Current Donor = 2 points

·         First-time Blood Donor = 3 points

·         Automated Donor = 4 points

A specialized process for Pheresis and Double Red Cell donations.

The maximum number of points a charity can score on one individual at one time is eight points: a new donor (3 points) who makes an appointment (1 point) and gives an automated donation (4 points).

Blood donors make appointments online or by calling 1-800-775-2522.

Donors must mention their charity when they arrive to donate blood.
